Gold just hit $5,100 π€―
PLUS: S&P touches a fresh record, Tesla walks back Cybercab hype, and the Fed decision that could move everything
Welcome back to the the Day Trading newsletter π
Gold hit an all-time high (while ETH continues to suffer). Every Trump comment is a potential landmine for risk assets right now.
Also in todayβs edition: S&P touches a fresh record, Tesla's robotaxi rollout gets a reality check, and Powell takes the mic Wednesday π
Letβs get into it π

π S&P 500 touched a fresh record and now sits just under 7,000 (a level analysts flag as potential technical resistance). If you're long, that's your near-term ceiling to watch; a clean breakout could accelerate momentum, but expect some chop at this milestone. (Reuters)
ποΈ Powell's Wednesday press conference is the wildcard. Watch for a "dovish pause" signaling future cuts (bullish for BTC) or hawkish talk on inflation that kills rate-cut hopes and pressures crypto. Trump's housing measures and tariff impact may add volatility (CoinDesk)
π Tesla's Cybercab robotaxi production starts April, but CEO Musk now warns early production will be "agonizingly slow" - a sharp walk-back from his November promise of mass production. The stock lives or dies on this rollout, so watch for regulatory approvals and actual deployment timelines before placing more bets (The Motley Fool)
π¦ Silver perpetuals hit $1.15B in 24-hour volume on Hyperliquid, overtaking SOL and XRP. Traders are using crypto infrastructure to bet on commodities, not coins. When traditional assets dominate a crypto exchange, it signals waning conviction in digital assets and rising demand for macro volatility plays. (Benzinga)
π° US national debt hit $38 trillion (now larger than the entire GDP) while foreign central banks are dumping Treasuries and hoarding gold instead. This debt spiral is rocket fuel for gold's rally; expect the bull run to continue unless a sharp market crash forces liquidations. (Seeking Alpha)

What Is a βDust Attack?β

That tiny amount of crypto you donβt remember receiving in your wallet isn't free money. It's a tracking device.
Scammers use these micro-deposits to map your holdings, link your addresses, and set up targeted phishing attacks.
Our team at Day Trading put together a full guide on how dust attacks work and how to protect yourself ποΈ

Gold just smashed through $5,100 per ounce for the first time ever (and it got there before Ethereum could even sniff $5K). The prediction market Myriad called it back in November when gold was sitting at $4,000 and ETH was bleeding out near $2,680.
Trump dropped a weekend threat to slap 100% tariffs on Canada if it cuts a trade deal with China. That sent investors sprinting toward the classic safe haven. Gold's now up 65% since 2025 and has tacked on another 12% in just the first three weeks of this year. Goldman Sachs sees it running to $5,400 before December.
Meanwhile, ETH is getting wrecked, down 10% in the past week to around $2,883.
On Myriad, 69% of predictors now think ETH drops to $2,500 before it climbs back to $4,000. That's brutal sentiment for the second-largest crypto asset.
Gold is a hedge, crypto is a risk asset. When tariff headlines hit, money runs to metals, not tokens. If you're long ETH hoping for a macro bid, you're on the wrong side of the flow right now.
Watch tariff escalation closely. Every Trump post is a potential hazard for risk assets.
